If you can find em, AEM made an excellent semi-ceramic pad with very little and light colored dust. They were manufactured by Nissin, the people who make your calipers for Honda, so its in the family.

I just had a set of posi-quiet ceramic pads installed on the S today. Initial impressions is that they seems slightly "softer" than the stock pad. My wheels are still filthy nasty from the OEM AP2 pads, so I don't have an impression on dust just yet. I'm going to put some miles on the new pads before I wash everything off and see how they are dust wise.

Is there pads that have a better initial bite without the dust?

My biggest concern with the posi-quiet is that they do not perform as well as the OEM pads. Just b/c they are ceramic doesn't mean they are guaranteed to have better performance. Keep us updated though!

After the initial break-in,the Hawk HPS has very little dust.I run 'em on 2 my cars. The S is next in line for new rotors/pads/SS lines & bleeder valves.

After about a month with the posiquiets (still in break-in period), the fronts are dusting about as much as the OEM rears. Once they fully break in, it should be even less.
I'm really happy with them so far. |
It doesn't take that many miles for bed in new brake pads. Unless you drive on the highway a lot, the pads should be fully bedded in a couple hundred miles.
