Default Pop from rear suspension

2000 s2k 59,000miles

I have recently been hearing a pop sound from my rear suspension when going over certain bumps and/or pulling out of my driveway with a decent size gutter at bottom. The last thing I have done to the car was lower it a bit more, but it has been lower then it currently is in the past with no noises. I was thinking it may be something to do with my parking brake since it is super weak, and my rear pads are nearly worn down. The noise also happens when I jack up the car from the rear diff. (with the parking brake engaged) I have looked at the rear susp. but nothing seems to be obviously wrong.

My car is on koni yellow/ ground control springs. middle perch setting on the shocks and the spring sleeve is about 1/4 of the way from the bottom of the thread. all other suspension parts are stock. My car is about 3.75 inches from the ground measured at the rear side jack tabs. I am fairly certain ive heard the noise from both sides of the car at different times, leading me to think its something with the parking brake or possibly even the sway bar. The popping has started recently within the past few days. Any ideas? My car is about 3.75 inches from the ground measured at the rear side jack tabs.

How much tension is still on your springs when it's off the ground? If you spun the collar down more, there could be the additional travel for the springs now when they move up and down.

im trying to remember, i think the rear does not have tension. the spring is loose. but that shouldnt really matter when the car it on the ground right. I shouldnt be getting enough droop even when on a slope to let the spring get loose.

Is your suspension installed correct, namely the perch on the konis?

Also all rubber coil spring isolators and bushings installed ?

Everything should be correct. I've installed several coilover setups and follow the instruction closely so I would hope I didn't make a mistake. I will double check this weekend when I have more time

Check all your suspension pick up points, especially rear toe link and ball joint nuts. Loosen them up, then retorque to spec.

I have the same problem. What traced it back to is the sway bar stabilizer link . The own ones are trash and when the car is lowered you're putting tension on the sway bar. I'm trying to find a adjustable set. I've been talking with the white line rep about it, I'm taking some measurements tomorrow for him. It took me forever to find the source of the noise. Ideally you want you're sway bar level but I put tein flex coil overs on and with the factory links it puts a ton of tension on the link.

Also check the torque on the control arm subframe bolts. One of the passenger side rear upper control arm bolts was slightly loose on mine, and would make a pop noise on a big slow speed bump.
