Rear bearings
 

Going to replace my rear wheel bearings soon. Looking for recommendations on any of the aftermarket brands.

Skf, Timken, ntn? Is Honda best?

just use oem , also keep in mind the torque specs for the axel nuts says 250lb in the service manual but really its about 400lb

This is the OEM bearing but a lot cheaper since it doesn't come with a Honda sticker.

NSK is the OEM supplier, I've ordered Timken and NSK bearings came out of the box. So. *shrug*.

Ended up going with Honda Bearings from hondapartsnow, better price than amazon at the time. Ordered some inexpensive Dorman hubs, so lets see how they hold up.

Both rears done with new OEM spindles and Dorman hubs. Fronts to redo now with the same Dorman hubs and OEM bearings all around.

Did you do the in stall on the rear and if so how long did it take you and any tips?

Also, what model and mileage?

Did the RR at home and had the LR done at a shop.

If you work on the car often, it's not very difficult. The only issue is you need to have the hubs/bearings pressed in so the parts need to come off and go for pressing and minor assembly prior to re-installation. The car will need an alignment after as well. Would take maybe 3-4 hours for an average DIYer. I'm a slacker so it took days. I recommend a shop but I try to be a stickler for torque specs and shops don't always play that game.

Note, it's a good time to check the ball joints (which you might damage if you don't work carefully or with the proper tools.) I replaced 2 joints on each side during this process of doing the rear bearings. Also put in new rear lower control arms :)
