Default Running the dampers at full stiff

If I run my Koni yellows at full stiff will it have any ill effects on the shocks or other components? I'm not getting enough at the track and the rear adjustment is such a pain that I wondered if it was ok to leave it like that.

On another note my spring setup is 400lb/435lb. I'm lowered about .75 inches with 1 degree of camber. On my local track I'm getting rubbing in the front with stock wheels and tires. Do I need more spring or can doing max stiff on the rebound adjustment help me?

Max stiff is not recommended by Koni, because you may over tighten the adjuster and break it.

What are you not getting enough of at the track?

You either need more spring or more negative camber, or both. I'd start with more negative camber first. Rebound really won't help you with bump(s). If you could adjust compression it would work to a point.

Also, you may be getting rubbing by the jacking effect. This is when you have so much rebound, like when the are set at max, and the suspension never gets a chance to fully extend back up to normal ride height as it reacts to driver inputs.

Try turning the shocks back 1/2 or 1 turn and see if this changes things.

Heh, that's what I get for doing a post while at work and on my phone.

That first sentence is supposed to be if I'm getting enough rebound to reset the shock to normal height.

That makes sense about having it set too high since it occurs after the first turn of a chicane. Though at the time it was 1 turn from stiff. I then adjusted it a half turn stiffer and the rubbing didn't seem to happen as much. Though it seem to occur at other parts of track afterwards. I suspect since it was "lightly" rubbing that it wore away any liner it needed to clear and wasn't being pushed anymore...
