Seized Caliper or E-Brake Adjustment?

Seized Caliper or E-Brake Adjustment?
Quick story: I changed my brake pads out for a set of Project Mu's this weekend. Took the car for a quick test drive, no pulling or abnormal feelings but after a short 5 minute drive my driver side rear brake was pouring smoke and started to smell. Clearly, that corner is getting much hotter and possibly dragging on the rotor. From what I've heard, this might be a seized caliper? The brakes felt fine and had no issues or warning signs prior to my pad change. Also, the guide pins were nice and smooth when I checked.
Here's the kicker: I did turn the piston back in half a turn with the e-brake up. I realized my mistake and put the e-brake down and finished retracting it back in. Could that have damaged anything? Is the e-brake lightly dragging on the rotor and can I check/adjust that for a quick fix?
Appreciate the help!

I just did fluid, rotors, pads and tires. While trying to retract the rear caliper pistons ..... I struggled.
Bought some Nissin remanufactured calipers from Rock Auto and couldn't be happier.
Again, brakes are important. Double check EVERYTHING.

Thanks! I checked it again and both pins were not aligned with the grooves in the piston. I rotated each piston so that the cross would line up with the top of the caliper and now everything seems fine.
