Square spring rates with staggered wheel setup... is it going to suck?
#11
Lol, what? There are lots of variables to consider but one will absolutely notice how the car will transition from being neutral/understeery to being more oversteer prone, on the street just by going with a square set-up, even under moderate driving. Can it be controlled, depends on your abilities.
Yeah I'm hoping to notice some changes at least on some on and off ramps, hoping the change is for the better though! Just don't feel good about buying vanilla Ohlins coils and then figured I should have bought the square rates from sakebomb or something in the first place!

No problem! Just be aware that there has been some changes to the standard Ohlin coils. If you can afford it, I don't think I would hesitate to go with the Sakebomb setup, they seem to know their stuff. Either way, after going with a square tire setup, you may want to go with a beefier FSB to tame the oversteer tendencies.
If you haven't done so already I would suggest that you take your car to autox or track day, they are both so much fun and you do learn a lot about your car. I like track days better because you get a lot more seat time, the downside is that it does cost a lot more than going to an autox! At my second autox event, I spun out on a wet day, in a decreasing radius corner, I was pushing pretty hard though.
