what to bring to the track
 

a friend of mine recently went through 4 sets front and back of pads at a high speed heavy braking hpde. I have an event coming up and i'm pretty sure i'll be in the same boat. How many sets of pads and rotors would you bring to a two day event at a heavy braking track. I have stock calipers and zero brake ducts, all the tracks i've been to are mostly scrubbing tracks with light braking and my ebc's have held up to numerous 20 min sessions, but with a few 6 hour open track sessions fast approaching i'm sure i'll be asking for trouble if i dont plan ahead.

bbk is out of the question, unless i find a shop capable of machining caliper brackets.

ducts.. whats the cost on the wasp kit. any good on stock rotors?

accord calipers. worth it at all?

PFC brake pads. I know they hold up really well on larger caliper/rotor setups. has anyone tried them on our car?

Rear brake, is there any point in only cooling one side of the solid rotor? would that lead to uneven padwear/potential for warping rotors?

ps i'll be flushing my fluid before i go.

Wasp kit is 425 if ordered before July 5, 2014. Works well with stock setup. The more work the front does, the less the rear does.
I would duct the rears to cool the hub.
Carbotech xp8 rear/10 front.
Set of rotors and oem pads so you can limp home.
Have fun!

4 sets on one weekend?

The only way I see that happening is the compound wasn't up to the task. I get a minimum of 5 HPDE days out of the club racers pads. Even at ACS in so can where you slow from 120+ down to 60 every lap I couldn't eat a set of pads in a day. Definitely step up in the compound.

Post your car configuration, track, lap time because something doesn't sound right.

Make sure your calipers are in good working order and if you have to get them rebuilt, perhaps use an endurance compound like a carbotech rp2

Get some temp paint so you can tell what brakes are getting up to.
