Default Wilwood BBK with stock AP2 V1's

I did some searching and couldn't find anything definitive and before I spend $2000 I would like to try and find out...

Has anyone put a Wilwood big brake kit on their S with stock wheels? I have a 2005 lowered on Eibach Pro Kit springs
and running 225s in the front and 255s in the rear.

One of the forum sponsors is telling me I need spacers. Is this going to cause the wheel to be pushed out too far so
now it will rub on the fender because of the lowering and will the wheel not sit right on the hub with the spacer?

Sorry if some of these are newbie questions but again this kit is expensive and can't be returned so before I buy
I want to be sure it will go on the car ok.

Thanks for reading!

As far as I know there are no bbk that fit with stock wheels. Most require exessive spacing (15mm-25mm) which is too much. It would help if you were to post what wilwood kit you were interested in. Is it the one actually offered through wilwood or is it one where a company made a custom bracket for a caliper and used a rotor from a different vehicle. If that is the case, what caliper is being used? Wilwood has over 20 calipers with various dimensions. Your best bet would be to contact the company that is offering the kit and see if they have a template so you can test it on your wheels.

It's an actual Wilwood kit from a sponsor on s2ki.

That stinks that you can't put a bbk on your car without having to go to different wheels!

there's a big thread on here (in the gallery) with people who are using 15-25mm spacers on stock wheels.. You'll need to get your fenders rolled though

Somebody was running that kit with the AP2 wheels. I'll see if i can dig up the thread/pics. It looked great, but i am pretty sure it required a spacer up front. However, the spacer was not more than 10mm IIRC. That Wilwood kit uses the Narrow Superlite caliper so it is an easier fit than the spoon or Stoptech. I say get it, some 10mm spacers with the integrated studs and lugs, and let us know how it performs!

Never just put spacers in the front. It changes the handling dynamic of the car, put the same size in the rear to balance it all back out.

Clarkster, if you can find more info on that, I'd appreciate it! Again it's a BIG expense to incur only to find out I can't use the kit.

No no, I didn't mean only spacers on the front...I would only do that if it was 5mm or less. This thread points out that supposedly a 3mm is needed for the AP1 wheels and a 5mm for AP2. Just remember, if you run more than a 3mm spacer you need longer studs, or you should get the 10mm spacers with integrated studs for front and rear. Of course that adds another ~$300 onto your cost. It is hard to find a BBK that fits under stock wheels. Your only options without spacers I think would be the Accord caliper conversion (inexpensive) or the Tarox (expensive).

Looks awesome though...

On second thought, I don't know if the 6 piston kit would fit on 16" wheels...I think that may be a 4 piston kit on the AP1.
