Default Auto Insurance and the CR

Has anyone looked into the difference in insurance premium while insuring a CR model vs the standard? I live in CA and even with an excellent driving record, insurance is pretty high for the standard model.

I live in MN. When I had an 06 I paid $450 for 6 months, now 08 CR I paid $472 for 6 months. I am not sure how it compares to others. I insure my home, three cars and a boat so I get discounts.

WOW! makes me want to move to MN.

What's is the coverage on your CR?

After weeks of shopping around for the best insurance rate/company I now pay $600/6months civic alone. I was paying almost $1000/6months prior to selling my ’05 S2000. That’s with 0 driving tickets or accidents, and discount because I added the house and 3 more cars to the policy. WTH? Maybe I should call the insurance company up and tell them I went through a sex change and is now a woman. Hope they won’t ask me to verify that.

Same for me on either trim. Shop around and ask for every discount possible. I pay around 1000 every 6 months for 3 cars. Good driver record ans discounts make a difference.

I have All State. My coverage is at 50,000 and 100,000 with a deductible of $1000. I signed up for automatic payment with take off 5% the total. I paid them yearly so that is more discount, my CR is discounted for week-end driving (or whatever the correct term is) However, zip code makes a lot of different too.

The answer is the base and CR have the exact same car symbols across the rating scale... For now. There is zero difference in premium if you're a comparing an identical driver and 2008/09 CR and non CR. at least across the big companies.
Any deviation in premium is from external factors outside of the vehicle model.

Check out eSurance. When I looked into them a year or two ago they had great rates. Also, my body shop says they are easy to work with. I believe this year they were purchased by a major company (state farm I think), so their customer service should be good.

I have Flo insurance (progressive), but I'm not gonna tell you how much we pay with 5 totaled cars and 3 stolen ones, with 1-2 tickets on my record all the time....but, the cool thing is you can go online and make changes to your policy including adding cars, and see immediately what your premium is.

Mine ended up being $20 cheaper per month going to a CR from a standard '05. Not sure if I was overdue for another discount or what (been with State Farm for about 7 years).

More safety stuff on the car makes a bit cheaper. Multiple car discount also helps.

Must be the safety as I dropped the '05 the same day as I added the CR.
