CR I'm currently looking at...

Hey fellas I came across a 08 BB CR with 28,000 miles that's coming up for sale shortly. The market seems to be high on these cars as they rarely come up for sale. Anyways it was involved in a left front end collision in 2010. Guy is aware and it shows up on carfax. He doesn't have pictures of the accident as he was not the owner of the car at the time. He's asking 30k for it. Car is in very good condition with all vin tags still present. Does that seem like an appropriate price? I originally thought it's a little high but do to the fact they are never for sale what are you guys thinking? Clean title as well. Thanks for any insight.
Matt

Sounds too high for a car with unknown previous damage. IMHO

I believe he has it priced right but personally, I cannot buy a car with a reported accident.

I have to agree that 30K seems a lot for a car with damage. I'm sure with some patience you'll be able to find a clean CR without accident history. If you're buying the CR to drive & not just as an investment, I wouldn't sweat the mileage as long as it's not too high. Good luck in your search.

If all vin numbers are there, how bad an accident could it have been? For a low mileage CR...Go for it!

:iagree: As long as everything checks out. With only 699 to begin with, some have been written off, others the owners are holding on to them, a few have been exported, lots are higher mileage; yeah, not sure if a "perfect" one will come up, and at a price you are willing to pay.

Take it to a good bod shop and have them throughly inspect the car. Like someone said if the vin stickers are all there it may not have been that bad. A good body shop should be able to at least give you an idea of the repair and if it was done right..

I agree, if all VINs are intact then it couldn't have been that bad at all.
I don't think $30k is that bad considering how much the market has been going up, but offer a few grand less and see if he will take it, who knows....

As long as the VIN tags represent the CORRECT VIN, I do not see why it would take much of a hit if any at all. It is a very limited car and with 28K miles, the miles are not out of line for a 10 year old vehicle. Extra clean cars with comparable miles are selling for more.
