S2000 CR Club Racer Edition CR stands for "club racer," conjuring up the good old days when guys drove their sports cars to the track, raced them, and then, if the racing gods were smiling, drove them home again

A set of new tires every 2 months? Holy shit! Do you drive sideways everywhere?

You must be at the track every weekend. Nice seeing you at ACS couple weeks ago by the way. Saw you autoxing on Sat (8/13) in your CR.

You'll be fine. It's bad practice, but people do it all the time. Just be smart about driving and you'll be a-o-k.
I think I will just run my new set of rear RE070's
I'll hold off on the Star Specs and wait for a rebate promotion that should come soon
FYI, I always forget to read your posts. I just look at the pictures.

that's what i'll be doing.. running another set of rear re070s next summer (i'm at 6k, and i'm pretty close to cooking the rears.. fronts look ok still).. so rather than mismatch, i'm going to run another set of rears.. figure i'll end up cooking them right around the same time i am done with the fronts.. that's what i did when i ran Re050s on my old ap2.

I'm at 22K and this should be the car's third set of rear RE070
the fronts are still good and original I think

Curious to hear how much life (mileage) CR owners here are getting from OEM Tires (Potenza RE070)? Let's assume no tracking/or autocross events. Please share your experience on both front and rear tires, recognizing that fronts will outlast the rear.

Thanks for the feedback.

I got 25k miles on the rears and 40k miles on the fronts of my original sets. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rear sets have lasted around 10k miles each, but I'm still on my second set for the fronts with about 20k miles.

I had similar numbers as crackermaker. My OEM rears lasted about ~20k and fronts would have lasted longer, but I change all the tires at the same time. Onto my 3rd set of tires at 45k.

Totally unrelated, but Discount Tire has a great price on the RE070's. The 225/45ZR 17's are priced even better than Tire Rack! Tire Racks price=235/ea , Discount Tire= 215/ea. They can get the 255/40ZR 17's at the same price as Tire Rack, $277/ea. I just ordered some myself and thought I would pass this along.
