Just hit 30K

I was snaking along a stretch of backroad by my house and when I came to a stop sign I looked down and my odometer read 29,999. I sat there exhaust burbling away thinking about how to best ring in the next 30,000 miles. At first I thought rip some donuts and slide through the milestone but then I remembered that tires are expensive and I am going back to school plus no one was there to watch. So with about 1.5 miles of arrow straight road ahead I reved up launched and blasted through the gears and just as I got to about 110mph the odometer clicked over to 30,000. As the car whined down I realized that of the 11 cars I have owned in 10 years that is the first one I like even more as the miles rack up. Sure there are faster cars, more practical cars, cars that are better looking but this car just does work. I mean it feels just as solid as the day I picked it up in March of 08 with only 1,800 miles on it and thats after 27,000 miles of VTEC fun, group drives, corner carving, stop and go traffic, and at least one instance of being caught in the pouring rain with no roof:)Along the way I have also come to appreciate the unique community this wonderful car fosters and hope all of you are enjoying this unique car as much as me!

Mine is just shy of 58,000 and I must say they get better as time goes on!

Kieran,

Awesome post and I feel exactly like you. The CR is just "that" much more fun to drive, even over the regular s2000. Its a strange feeling to enjoy a car more and more even as the miles increase. In the past I enjoyed my cars, then moved on to something I wanted more. While I do still want an NSX, I'm very happy and content with my CR. Love it more and more each day.

It's fun to think about the memories of the first 30,000 or wherever you're at, and think about the next 30k :)

I absolutely agree. I love my CR just as much today as when I'd 1st picked her up. Every drive has been a pure pleasure.

I'm creeping up the 38k mark and it still keeps me happy. My dad rode in my car today and his response was, "If I was a pedestrian or another car, I'd think you're some punk flying around, but sitting in this car while you were driving fast made me really excited. I really like this car!" Haha...when the pops gives it thumbs up, it has got to be a great car. :)

^^ That depends. Is your dad a "camry guy" or a "mustang guy"?

Whenever I feel like getting rid of my AP1 for a CR, I just take the top off in the parking lot and cruise. Helps me remember how convenient it is to have. I'll be patient for mine. I have some kind of car A.D.D. lol

Good job DRIVING the car, Kieran650! Rack those miles up!

And here i am trying to avoid racking up the miles by not submitting the CR to my excruciating 4.4 mile compute to work.

Congrats on the milestone OP, here's to many more!
