S2000 CR Club Racer Edition CR stands for "club racer," conjuring up the good old days when guys drove their sports cars to the track, raced them, and then, if the racing gods were smiling, drove them home again

Default My rant being a CR owner

It's actually not a rant, more of a question....

Why wouldn't Honda provide the OEM hardtop stand and/or the OEM hardtop cover as part of the package when you buy a CR? On a really random related note, why doesn't the OEM hardtop cover not come with a bag?

I'm sure CR owners have a reasonable explanation for this

You're silly.

Just be glad they made the CR.

You are right. That thing is a piece of junk. I'll take it off your hands.

I don't own the OEM hardtop cover myself, but I suppose it was an oversight on Honda's part. I know some people received a hardtop stand with their purchase, frankly I'd rather have the stand.

That would've been more parts for me to put everything together...

Just got the wheels, owner's manual, and finally, tools!.. do you know how hard is it to get all standard CR parts together? If those were standard parts, previous owner probably lost it all.

good to hear from you Mocky.

true
I still remember in '09 talking to a dealership in Florida about the financing for a '09 gpw and sorting out flights with another local owner when I got an email from another dealership asking if I was still looking for a s2000 (even though I had my '05 still at the time). The local CO had told their dealership that I was hunting for another S. Had I not gotten that email, I'd have a '09 gpw in my garage instead of the cr. Glad they emailed me.

the dealership offered me the oem stand for $400 when I bought the car. I told them I'd take it off their hands for $200 and they said no. I ended up buying one from a local guy a few years ago for $200

This isnt' Mercedes, Honda gives away nothing with their vehicles. I remember having to buy car mats on some of my Hondas, or you have to negotiate them into the deal and you felt really good after they agreed to give you mats for free, lol.

For the longest time Honda had a banner in their showrooms that read "An incentive doesn't make other cars equal a Honda" and they would not give an incentive on any vehicle . Honda traditionally gave away nothing. Now they seem as competitive as other manufacturers , if not close.
