need guide on CR pricing
#11
I'd say that $27-$29k is reasonable but more than likely, my guess is that someone will offer the owner closer to their asking price. As a comparison, as some/most of you know, my car was hit years ago at the Dragon (technically, Hellbender) and the drivers side door was replaced as well as painted (basically the whole left side was). It won't matter how many people look at it, if I don't tell them it was hit, they wouldn't know. Whether it's a mechanic, Billman, a "body-guy", etc. they all say the work is spotless.
But it's not.... and I still have an offer at $35k for my car from a guy in Atlanta. I have 17k so the miles are less but the damage to my car was far more extensive. I'm not sure if the market on the islands would actually increase the value of the car since there is a shipment cost to consider but I'd still say the seller is going to get close to his asking. My $.02.
Good luck with the sale, and as far as what detracts someone from a CR is purely up to them. If they want a BRZ, go get a BRZ. As a previous ap1 and ap2 owner, the soft top is a nice feature to have but I never considered the s2000 as a daily driver so whether the top goes down or off makes no difference to me since most of the time it's day-driving for me. If it's the hardtop removal that's making it "claustrophobic" a winch in the garage makes it a simple one person job. As far as comfort and less comfort go, perhaps a Buick Cascada would fit your needs.

Thank you everyone for your honest and helpful advice/input. Got more info from seller which raised more questions. I've decided to pass on this one and not make an offer. The search continues.....
