S2000 CR Club Racer Edition CR stands for "club racer," conjuring up the good old days when guys drove their sports cars to the track, raced them, and then, if the racing gods were smiling, drove them home again

Default No Lift Shift

Time to shake up the group. In the interest of going faster than the car in the lane beside you. In theory if you shift at the point the rev limiter is about to take over, keeping the gas pedal on the floor you should be able to shift with clutch through the gears. It's a trick I used on motorcycles but they are easier to fan the clutch. Anyone play with this technique and is your engine, transmission and clutch standing up to it?

The "power shift" is very hard on the drivetrain and i wouldn't recommend it for this car. If you were a serious drag racer it might be useful in a fully built car.

Yeah... this isn't a drag car. Up-shift smoothly and rev-match your downshifts and you're golden.

I'd have to agree with those above. This drivetrain is not built for THAT kind of abuse.

I pretty well agree with all the comments BUT. I think done properly it is hardest on the clutch because it is coming in with the clutch delay(stock 04+) at full power. On the other hand many S2k owners think nothing of dropping $10-20 big ones into super charger/turbo set up with suspension kits and pipes and wheels and now you are gonna worry about a clutch?? It was a fun discussion that at least made a few guys think. I love my car too much to do that long term and it not likely will ever be on a drag strip.

It works if you want to replace things often. Whatever floats your boat man. Personally, I'll take a little time in between shifts to get things done.
