For painting emblems without having to remove them take 3x5 cards and slide them underneath the emblem. You might have to use a small strip of masking tape to protect any remaining exposed paint. Then mask off to protect the surrounding painted surface. Use a plastic adhesion promoter and once dry, use a quality enamel paint of your choice. I've never done the CR's emblems, but this method has worked on other cars.

I used Plastidip for mine. It was painless, and it seems to be much more durable than I had initially thought. There isn't a single stone chip or wear mark on the front emblem after about 3,000 miles of use.

Agreed, I would just Plastidip unless you're really inclined to remove and paint. Although my CR sees no inclement weather, I dipped my rear H in that photo above in the fall of 2012 and it's still holding up fine.
