A picture of my gpw CR

So yesterday I broke the water hose while I was cleaning the intake air control valve on my civic si
which caused my radiator coolant to squirt all over the engine bay
ThereforeI had to take my CR to work
And took a quick picture

I love my blue, but white is so clean looking!

Vanishing Point 05-17-2011 01:52 PM

:iagree: , now if those license plate Nazi's would let you leave off the plate it would be perfect!

closetgeek 05-17-2011 02:07 PM

I'm having a hard time trying to decide between blue and white for my future cr (if i'll even get one at all lol) but right now your pic is making me sway toward gpw.

vasquezgno 05-18-2011 08:15 AM

the side strakes look nice on your cr, i think im going to get that for my car.

cantsleep 05-18-2011 09:43 AM

^^ yes! the side strakes would be a good addition

anyway My Si is back on the road and CR goes to hibernate again!

Tell me about it. Here in VA we are required to run a front plate and it just kills the look of the car. On my first s2k I made it a 1.5 years before getting pulled. Once I did I got hit twice in 3 weeks.

On my current s2k I'm about to just leave it so I don't have to deal with the hassle of getting pulled. 9/10 of you'll get away with it but when you don't it's a pain. Get enough of them and you won't be able to just pay the fine and will be required to go to court for it. Also if it wasn't a daily I'd just leave it off and take my chances but as a daily I drive past cops on a regular basis. You're most likely to get pulled for it when you're around town driving. On the highways you're usually pretty safe.

On another note the car looks great. I can never decide if I like the white or blue CR the best.

Yes I agree those side-strakes look nice, I may have to pick up a set one of these days :)

Why hibernate? don't you live in CA?

Everytime I see your sig I have to laugh and agree!

lltysonll 05-18-2011 10:40 AM

Also really liking the side strakes. Never cared for them much on regular S2ks and never seen one on a CR. It matches the front lip perfectly. I'm thinking I may actually pick some up this summer...
Do you have more pics from different angles?

Ldo 05-20-2011 11:40 AM

I always wondered how the side strakes would look on the CR. Thanks for the pic. They look right at home. However, I've heard of them falling off and a biatch to install. I saw an instruction on how to install them, and looks like a 3 hour job.

Vanishing Point 05-20-2011 12:32 PM

At nearly four hundred dollars with shipping they are pricey. I have them on my 2007 and have never had an issue with them. I also have a set for the CR, but other than test fitting them with 3M tape I'm torn on whether to permanently mount them.

This is an email I received when I inquired about the side strakes from good friend/manager of the parts dept at my Honda dealership;

"08F04-S2A-1Q3F /STARKES, SIDE *B554P* Apex Blue Pearl, looks like 2008-2009....retail price is $480.40, your price should be $370.60, only 5 of these items left, not even sure where it would ship from, so probably at least a week out."

cantsleep 05-20-2011 01:14 PM

Yea I bought it for 200 off the member here and it was already gpw

It took me a long time to come across to gpw one
Mine is there with some factory hardware screws( no drill required) and industrial 3M tape and it's very stable !

Vanishing Point 05-20-2011 02:20 PM

The cheapest price I've seen of late for the strakes.

sssssssoooooooooooo......u wanna sell ur cr?

s4play 06-01-2011 01:06 PM

+1 really  those side-strakes! Been looking for a set of those or Veilside for mine.

I just noticed your window trim is black so it matches the black hardtop so nicely - mine is white for some reason...is that a CR thing or mine is an odd-ball?

ungucpho 06-01-2011 01:34 PM

CR's have the windshield tape so that it will blend better with the hardtop, 08 and 09's normal s2000's do not have the tape and have body colored windshield frames

Yep, All other s2000's had it factory too until 2008 when Honda switched to have it removed on all non CR model s2000's.

cantsleep 06-01-2011 04:26 PM

Yea it flows better with black ht
That's why a lot of people who owns 00-09 base model
They take off black tape to match the ht painted according to their car color
