Wilwood BBK Installed (Stock CR wheels)

7 Attachment(s)
I just installed a Wilwood 6 piston big brake kit on my CR. I figure yall would appreciate knowing what is required to fit stock CR wheels.

I test fitted them about two months ago, and saw that they nearly fit. I have been busy modifying other parts of this cars, so I finally came back around to install the brakes this week.

Last week I ordered 3mm spacers. I got the akata spacers from ebay (highly recommend). I got ford mustang 70.6mm hub dia 3mm spacers for the front and Honda accord 64.1mm hub dia 3mm spacers for the rear. I got SOS stainless brake lines (highly recommend aswell) and motul 600 brake fluid. To run these calipers on our cars, you need a M10x1.0 to 1/8npt adapter fitting. I was about to turn the part myself because it was a PIA to find someone that carried such an adapter. Anywho, the only place that carrys it that I could find on this side of the pond is FlyinMiata.com.

Anyways, with the 3mm spacer, there is about a 1mm gap. Its pretty tarded close as you can see from the pics. I would give you a review on the brakes, but I have some KW V2s coming in this week, so no sense of torquing everything down right now.

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said "close". Are you considering other wheels?

TheSnail 08-05-2012 10:58 AM

Yeah, Im getting black CCW Classics in either (18x11 rear 18x9.5 front) or (17x10.5 rear 17x9.5 front). I have about two months before I have to make up my mind between the two sizes.

What are the part # breakdown for the BBK?

TheSnail 08-05-2012 12:56 PM

Its a Wilwood Superlite 6 (SL6) BBK

Part number: 140-10309

They typically go from $1600-1900, however, Summit Racing blows away everyone elses prices @ $1500 which is a steal.

You wouldnt happen to know the offset for the CR rims would ya?

TheSnail 08-05-2012 03:38 PM

I just went outside to check since the wheel was already off the car. Anyways, the back of a CR front wheel says 17 x 7J 55.

So 55+ offset
