15" sub
does anyone know if a 15" sub will fit in the toolwell? my car is in the shop right now, so won't have access to measure for 3-4 more days...i realize there wouldn't be very much air in the space under the sub to move around, maybe if it was built on some sort of platform, where the magnet was in the well and the the sub was lifted up?

Without fiberglass I don't see any way.
See if you can get your hands on the December 2005 issue of Car_Audio_and_Electronics. Page 51 has a picture of an S2K with a 15 inch sub in a fiberglass enclosure in the tool well. A single assembly houses the sub and a 5 channel amplifier. The assembly uses some kind of quick release system for rapid installation and removal. Very interesting setup. Good luck and keep us posted. |
thanks for the info, i'll check that out...don't know if it'll be easier to try the 15" or find some way for 2 12's to fit....

Big subs in a little car, wow. Not sure if you will have the room for it and still be able to put anything but a reese cup in the trunk.
Found an article (might be the one Dierk was talking about) and the trunk is stripped except for the sub and the amp. http://www.caraudiomag.com/features/0512cae_aem/ |

Why would you want a 15" sub in an S2000 anyway?
|
I stuffed 2 10's in my trunk using fibreglass and sometimes i think that's overkill. I'm not sure what the point of two 12's or a 15 would be.

After some careful calculations and some creative construction, I have found a way to fit 2 15's in your car......
http://www.jostats.com/images/sigs/s200015s.gif Seriously though, 2-10's work really well in an S, they hit tightly and will make the car rock |
i have 2 12's already though, so if i don't have to, i would rather use what i have or upgrade, thnx for the link
