2006 Rollbar Speakers
Does anyone know what the spec's are for these speakers. I'm wondering how much power they can handle. Also the size if know would be helpful as well.
Thanks much, Flish |
honestly, i have no idea. i gave a look at and very quick listen to them not too long after the '06 models hit the market.
from what i saw when i checked them out, my guess would be small ;) , and very little power. (less than 15 Wrms) they could still be useful tho -- what are you wanting to do with them? |
My first option would be to replace them if there are better speakers at a similar size. Second option would be to run them thru the new head unit (Alpine 9857) or amp (alpine 300x2) depending on power rating. The hope would be to use them in conjuntion with the boston Acoustic Pro 60's.

You can run them off a 9857 with no problem. 300x2... are you serious? or did you mean 30x2?
They are around .75-1.00", I forgot. Just pop the cover off and you'll see the size. The rollhoop is right behind them so fitting another speaker in is a challenge. Tweeters you can do, but hard to find a small full range driver that will fit. |
i wouldn't amp them.... well, unless you want to witness their smokey death.
you could probably wire them to the HU, and power them from it. then use the fader to adjust the balance front to rear. somewhere, i've got a few writeups on how to balance front to rear volume. i think it's in the FAQ. regardless, i'll re-write it here just in case. once you get them hooked up, roll your fader all the way forward. then, slowly roll backwards until you can just begin to hear the rears. take note of that setting. then, roll your fader all the way back, and slowly roll it forwards until you just can no longer hear the rears. take note of that setting set your fader in between those 2 settings. that way, the rears give you the presence you want for a full sound, but do not dominate your soundstage. |
There is another thread that goes into more detail, but what I can tell you is the stockers won

I just installed an Alpine 9856 in my MY06, do I need to be cautious about the rollbar speakers? I didn't have an special install or wiring ran for them, just plug and play with the harness on back of the stereo. I am kinda worried after reading this thread...
