Add back speakers to my 2001 ap1
I have a 2001 AP1 with a 2007 AP2 oem radio with XM on it. I replaced the door speakers with some sony speakers and it was a good improvement. However, I would like to add two rear speakers but it's my understanding that my 2001 didn't came pre-wire for rears speakers. If there is a harness for it? How did the optional headrest speakers were connected?

You can install the pins onto the factory harness and run the wires back so it would look a lot cleaner, I couldn't find any spare ones in my toolbox so I just tapped it straight into my headunit's harness to the rear speakers.

With an OEM heaunit, there are no wires to tap into, so you'll need to add pins/wires to the factory connector.
The accessory headrest speakers were supplied with a "Headrest Speaker Subharness" which basically was wires/pins
to be added to the connector. If you have a suitable reverse harness, you can scavenge the pins and add them to the
factory harness, or it has been alleged that similar pins can be found in an ATX computer power supply, though I
don't know.
Here are the factory accessory headrest speaker installation instructions.
