Aftermarket key fob not arming factory alarm
 

Hey guys said just like the title States I bought an aftermarket key fob off Amazon and it unlocks and locks the car just fine however it does not arm the factory alarm. I do happen to have one of the original key fobs and it unlocks and locks the car as well arms the alarm. Does anyone know if there's an easy way to reprogram the after market Key fob to arm the factory alarm. Thanks for any input

The OEM alarm system was a dealer-installed accessory, which included new, different key fobs to operate the alarm.
The original key fobs, supplied with the car, send lock/unlock commands directly to the keyless entry module.
The alarm key fobs send lock/unlock commands to the alarm module, which in turn sends those commands to the
keyless module through a wire.
So alas, I believe the short answer is no, you can't program those fobs to work with the alarm.
