Alphine Cd Player

Has anyone bought an Alphine cd player and used the Alphine KCE 865B Dash controller to hook into the dash controls. I want to know if this works before I drop $168 bucks. Also any suggestion for a good cd player??

Unless you buy the $3k F#1 Alpine, your going to need a European Alpine. They're the only ones that have the remote input for the 865B. There are a few people here that have European decks on the way. I haven't heard of anyone that has installed one, yet. I imagine the the 865B will work like a charm w/ a deck that has an input for it.

Thanks for the info. Any other deck you would recommend ?

I'm using the OEM deck and sending my amp a speaker-level signal. I tried an Alpine w/ a PAC SWI-X and didn't like the delay of the dash volume control. The PAC doesn't seem to have bothered other people as much as it bothered me, since there appear to be plenty of people using it w/ aftermarket HUs.

How many seconds delay?

About 1.37 seconds. Just kidding;). I don't know about how many seconds, I just know that the volume didn't react in the same way. For example, with the stock setup, when I push my volume switch down and quickly let it go, my HU's volume immediately goes down "one notch". With the PAC, I couldn't do that. I would have to hold it down longer, and then my HU would catch on and move the volume down more than "one notch". That bugged the heck out of me :yikes: . I didn't give the PAC a chance after I realized what the volume control would be like.
