Alpine Type R Components - Issue with no bass
Hey guys,
I just installed the Components in the S and i dont seam to have bass.
These are amazing speakers, with such a clear sound but im not getting that low deep bass.
i have tried to adjust it on the deck but seams it doesnt go up that much and sounds weird. The deck gives enough power to the speakers.
Do i need to hook up an amp? or install a Sub?
i dont really want a sub but if it comes down to it i will have to.
any help will be great,
Thanks

^I agree, NS knows everything car audio related, lol
I wouldn't say I know "everything"...
But I have wasted >$10K in car audio in my truck... I'm constantly finding better sound speakers.
For instance, I thought my Diamond Hexes were fantastic...until I put SEAS separates in the truck... Now I have SEAS tweeters (for 1/3 the price of new Diamond tweets) that sound far better/more clear (even at highway speeds with the top down) in the S. Working on finding 5 1/4" woofers to match (I have a 12" sub that plays all the way to 100Hz with almost 0 distortion - sounds like I just have big mid-bass speakers) due to mounting dimensions. Most quality 6 1/2's are too deep for the S whereas there is a more abundant selection of quality 5 1/4's that will fit.

You wont get good bass from those speakers running them off a headunit. 18watts RMS just isnt enough to feed those type Rs.
put a good quality 2 or 4ch amp on them and they will kick much better, but dont expect them to sound like a subwoofer. If you really want good bass you should buy a subwoofer.

I love the SEAS separates in my truck. Just a tip, Alpine's F1 stuff is made by SEAS
What do you have the low pass xover on your subs set at?
