I think HD radio is through an Ai-Net module. Modifry's Dash Control Interface (DCI) will retain your dash controls... more or less plug and play.

HD radio can be received if the HD radio Tuner Modue ( TUA-T500HD ) is connected.

straight of the 9857 manual for you.

i'd be curious to see if HD radio has any improvements over regular radio quality.

the 9857 manual states that DIGITAL will display if the tuner receives a radio station with audio and text signals - is there something else i need to buy for this? my friends' stock HUs (bmw and audi) display the artist and song names, and it would be nice if the 9857 can do that too.

Tuner Modue ( TUA-T500HD ), as stated above, is what you need for hd radio and is what is needed to display song titles and artists on the HU

at $250 i don't think it's worth it for hd radio... my friends' cars came out years ago, and i would assume those HUs weren't for hd signals. they said they don't have a subscription to xm or satellite radio, but the artist and song names still show up after they manually set something on their decks, so that's why i was curious as to see whether there was a setting on the 9857 that i missed in the manual.
