Default Anyone have Alpine CDA-9887

Alpine CDA-9887 CD Receiver

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-BYnbUNy7ysn/c...in/viewcart.asp

What you need to know:
The new radio will be installed using its trim ring and the factory side brackets.
A slight gap around the face of the receiver will be visible after installation.
You won't be able to close the factory radio cover if you install a stereo with a fold-out faceplate or a protruding faceplate.
Video receivers with flip-out monitors may not work in this vehicle because of the configuration of the factory dash.

I am asuming they are saying the radio door wont close with the face plate in the folded down position rite? I should have no problems installing this and still be able to use the factory radio door?

Thanks
Charlie

I have the 9886 in my S2k and it fits fine. I never use CDs so the radio faceplate stays up all the time anyway.

Did you convert it to run your dash controls? If so which kit did you get? I orderd the head unit , Ipod cable that will work the Ipod from the radio and the Sirus kit today.

get the Modifry DCI for the dash control if available. Do not get the universal Xpac kit. It's very slow. Here is a link for Modifry http://www.modifry.com/

Works great. I am running it without an amp and it still sounds good even with the top down. I have an MP3 player hooked up to the aux imput(no Ipod yet) because I don't like to carry a bunch of CDs. I plan on adding the HD radio to it in the near future.
