great write up! but is there any way of uploading the pics again? some of them dont work :(, unless it my computer not wanting to show them

I agree, most of the photos starting with the tweeter install do not work. It would be awesome if that was fixed.

Hey fellas!

I have not been on these boards in years, but I see there is concern (from my email account and PMs) about the original image host (imageshack) not keeping the photos up.

Rest assured I still have the original photos and will be trying to find a day this week to re upload and integrate missing photos.

Your wishes are my commands!

EDIT: Seems that a lot of the linked photos near the end of the DIY work, but when I go to save any edits of my original post, I get the message: "Sorry, but you have posted more images than you are allowed to". Have Mods limited images per post to 25? If so, the only way I know of fixing this would be for them to insert a second post in my name after my first for continuation.

Perhaps you can combine two photos in to one so you're linking to a fewer number of photos.

will be doing this install soon. one thing that confuses me is how do i check the polarity?

^^^ I'm in the same boat and I also didn't get a harness with mine, so I'm assuming I'll have to buy one? Thanks!

Okay, so I attempted the install and found it very doable. Took a few hours for the first speaker due to lack of experience and a little confusion, but I knew I would be smart enough to figure it out. I really appreciate the write up!

After I responded to the other posters question about polarity, it dawned on me that it's just the + and - signs for the wires. I skipped crazy glue for the second tweeter and used the brackets that came with the Polk speakers to mount them in the door. I'll probably rip em out and put in aftermarket baskets later on down the road. The speakers are a huge improvement over stock and I'm not sure what people are talking about as far as not being able to hear anything when the top is down. Maybe it's time for an ear exam, cause even with my aftermarket Alpine radio and the stock speakers I was still able to hear them with the top down at high speeds.

Thanks again for the write up!

The adapter u got for the 6.5 speakers, how dose it work for the tweeters, are they just plug and play from scratch or do i need anything to install them as well?

Si Isnt Enough Jul 1, 2013 07:55 PM

Everything you need to install them is included. It's really not as intimidating as it may seem.
