Hardly any of the pics in the original post are showing...

Need to replace mine soon.

SI what did you do with the crossover box? Was it needed? I didn't install mine and the tweeters sound a bit too high for my liking...

UPDATED!

Haha sorry that took a year. There is now apparently a image limit on individual posts. I made a imgur album with description and added it to the original post.

Sorry!

Any thoughts?

Great write up! Much appreciated. I have a quick question about the tweeter installation. I just picked up DB6502s and the tweeter has foam attached to the back so I can't glue it on. If I take the foam off the flat backing is recessed so it won't touch the backing plate. Does anyone have experience installing the DB6502s?

Pictures would be helpful. Image search keeps turning up stock images that don't show the back.

I would suggest cutting out a slightly oversized piece of outdoor, two-sided foam mounting tape so that it can contact the surround plastic by pressing it down firmly.

So I used some double sided 3M tape and it worked great. It seems pretty solid so hopefully it lasts. Quick question about using aftermarket speakers in stock baskets. Are speaker spacers mainly used when the stock speaker baskets are too shallow? The DB6502s fit fine depth wise in the baskets, but do the screws line up the same?
