I'd love to see how you made the tablet snap in. I have been debating on doing something like this to my dash & wanted to be able to remove the tablet. Since my car may not move for a month at a time I wanted to remove the tablet for charging purposes etc

Here is the final form...



I used the 2nd Gen Nexus 7 with timur's kernel. The specific kernel has the ability to turn on/off the display when it detects power, so the tasker app wasn't nessesary!

I bought all the stuff to do this a while back. I never could find the timur kernel. I've tried a few others & they were to buggy for me to move forward with the setup. The search continues for the proper kernel.

I may have to break down & buy a 2013 model. That kernel isn't compatible with the 2012 I believe.

So did you guys install the rear mount ? Or just the jdm bezel only ?
