Done! LED Flasher on S2k Third Brake Light
Hi guys,
Just finished the installation of the LED Flasher on my ap2's third brake light. I started a question thread before, not too many people know how to do it.
After couple weeks research (I know, took way too long. But my job required me to travel a lot. so yeah), I found the easiest way to do this would be find a pair of connectors (1 male and 1 femal) to extend this. Unfortunately that dealers don't sell those connectors individually, they come with the harness.
There are three ways that I think I would do.
1: Look for those connectors at Junk yards, and wire them up with the LED Flasher, and plug and play.
2: Wire the LED Flasher into the harness and bypass the connectors completely
3: Cut the harness and wire the LED Flasher into the harness.
Luckily that I find a pair of connectors in Junk Yard, which cost me $20.
After the install, I used couple cable ties to clean up the trunk. The LED Flasher comes with a 3M double side tape, and that also works.
According to what I saw on the road, some newer models Jeep come with this function, so I assumed that it is LEGAL in California.
Here is some pictures of my installations.
Hope that would help other people who wants to do this to their s2k.
Thanks everyone who replied my thread before, and Peace out!
