Default DRL and wiring

Hi guys,

I just got a 2007 S2000. I noticed the previous owner (or the one before him) did a DRL delete. When I have the car on and ebrake down, the DRL light goes off which from what I understand means they should be on, but they are not. Highs work just fine. I looked at the fuse box and it seems fuse for DRLs (#14) is missing. I'm going to put that back in and see what happens, but I also noticed there's some wiring just hanging under there: anyone have any idea what these are?

The DRLs are the high beams at reduced voltage and controlled by two boxes situated side by side under the dash. For US cars see pages 22-119 thru 22-122 in the 2007 service manual. The Canadian cars only have one module. I don't see a Brown wire in either diagram, though, 14 pin connectors to both boxes so not sure what the smaller connector may be.

Thanks. I'll try to get some better pictures today. I only have the 00-03 service manual, which obviously doesn't have any info on this.

No idea about those connectors, but removing the fuse should be the only thing required for a DRL-delete. I imagine replacing the fuse will make them start working again.

Took a better picture. The large connector is labeled HWAXE04B 9. Upon searching the net, it seems many cars have this and it's just a connector for optional accessories (i.e. alarm). I couldn't find anything in the 00-03 manual so I can't confirm. I am going to put the fuse back in and see what happens to the DRL, just have to find time to go buy one.

Update: so those wires are for the stock alarm I believe. The DRL were fixed by putting the correct fuse in, go figure.

Yep, that's what I did for a DRL delete too: remove the fuse.
