I just recently installed new focal 165 VRS shallow mount 6.5 speakers into my 05 s2k. The stock mount does not fit perfectly after some dremeling of the mount. Was looking for anyone who can suggest a place or fabricate a mount specific to the speakers. The depth is fine but its the diameter of the speaker that does not fit the stock mount. Thanks!

ebay. i purchased a set that was made out of some plasticy material, not sure what it was. i had to mod it though in order to fit my Focal's. i have the 165 ca1's though so mine may be deeper.

i wouldnt recommend that for long term use.. that wood will rot, and soak up water in no time.

If you make them from wood, take the time to drill out all the mounting holes and use a good undercoating product to seal them. Make sure you do the whole thing, otherwise they will become water logged in time.
