Grounding aftermarket head unit
Hey all,
Noob question: installing aftermarket Kenwood unit. I got wiring harness which I will be connecting to new head unit and plugging it into Honda's adapter. Kenwood adapter that plugs into the new stereo comes with extra long ground cable. The wiring harness that plugs into Honda's also comes with ground cable. Should I simply connect the 2 just like all other wires, or should I attach Kenwood's ground cable to some bolt and not use wiring harness's ground cable? Thanks! |
You can use either. I connected my ground to the harness so it would be quicker to take out if I ever needed to.

Either as stated but I used the bolt method you listed. Just seemed like a better long term solution.

I generally ground all black wires. I'm my old benz, I grounded only the headunit and it created distortion.
