As I am looking at amps, I was wondering the same thing. How many folks have mounted their amps on top of the spare tire? How big?

Do you have photos?

Thanks!

Right now I have a four-channel Alpine MRP-F240 inside the spare tire. It's about 10.5"L X 9.5"W X 2.5" H.

Sorry I don't have any photos at the moment. It looks like a slightly wider or longer amp would fit, but not much longer or wider...maybe an inch more wide or a half inch longer. A taller amp would easily fit--maybe a couple inches taller than what I have.

To clarify, you asked about fitting an amp OVER the spare, but nothing will really fit OVER it--the compartment itself is about as tall as the tire... You did mean INSIDE the spare, right?

There is another stealth location that is behind the false panel to the left of the spare (Essentially above the fuel tank.) I have an XTant 403a that I will be mounting there. That space is suitable for a wider, less deep amp. The 403a is officially 18.5 x 7.6 x 2.25" and others have successfully mounted them at that location.

Finally, under the driver's seat is an option for a small amp if you don't have the OEM Security System module under there already.

26" x 13" is the size you can fit. See https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=232978

I have a PPI PCX-2125 and it fits with lots of room to spare, if that helps.

The dimensions are 23" x 16". However, it is not square because the shape of the rack. You have 16" x 16" to work with no problem or you could go 23" x 10".

flitcroft swapped the second digits in his post . If you are looking at a particular amp PM me and I will check the dimensions on the rack to make sure it will fit.

If you are looking to keep the spare and mount an amp in the spare you have even less space. You would have to mount the amp up side down and that is not recommended for cooling. If you mounted it right side up then you would need an amp less than 10" x 10" to fit.
