set vtec that low?
Just spend the 150 and get it dynoed tuned. Lower vtec down to 5500 or 5600.

I have done some research, and I have found out (so far) that the VAFC does not even really work on our cars, due to the MAP sensor instead of a MAF sensor. The ECU takes the pressure at the manifold to determine the amount of air entering the combustion chamber, and then adjusts fuel accordingly. A VAFC works with a MAFS because it is downstream from the sensor.....it overrides the fuel amount already calculated with the ECU. The problem with a MAP sensor is that it is downstream from the VAFC sensor. The VAFC will changes the fuel amounts, but the ECU will re-change them when it sees that the MAP reading is off from its fueld reading.
Please tell me if I am incorrect.

The V-AFC intercepts the MAP signal and adjusts it up or down depending on whether you want more of less fuel. It assumes that if you tell the ECU there is more air the ECU will respond with more fuel and vice versa.
There are some complications with the ECU retuning when in closed loop but then you won't be in closed loop when you are driving hard and that's when you want the power.
All that said, the V-AFC is a toy and really not the way to go about tuning a highly technical 21st century car.

you say when the loop is closed, what do you mean by this (when would it occur).
What about running 2 ecu's then, one for street driving (kept stock), and one for the track (tuned).

As for two ECUs, if you like.
