Matching XM OEM receiver and After-Market Antenna
 

Hello Electronic Gurus... What I thought would be an easy switch had reverse effects. This has got to be an easy fix, yet it has me stomped. Am unable to get signal to XM receiver.

I needed to replace the OEM XM Antenna, but opted to keep the OEM receiver/HU. As you know the OEM receiver has a dual antenna input port, yet all new XMs have only a single lead. Dual lead antenna are no longer sold as they are out of date. Along with the "TERK XM Radio XMICRO2 Magnetic Car Antenna", I installed the "Terk Dual Input Antenna Splitter". Both Antenna and Splitter have the "Pink" end so the connection between the two seem solid. The dual leads from the splitter need some help as they touch when plugged in, nor make a solid connection in the connection port. Also needed to tape in the dual connections to the receiver as they come unplugged easily. Out of sight, so no big deal.

Checked the entire antenna wire of the antenna to confirm it was not scared during the install causing a short. Head unit and receiver are communicating fine with the exception of the "NO SIGNAL" error. Validated XM account/receiver ID still valid and active. Pushed "New Signal" from Several times without change.

Am unable to find any adapters that would seat the dual leads into the receiver better. Before I begin bending or grinding leads to see if I can acquire signal, am looking for any recommendations or guidance you can offer.

Maybe check with Sirius/Xm to be sure they have your OEM Xm radio on their database?

I bought a 2007 S2000 used 5 years ago. It had an OEM Honda radio with Xm option. But, the original owner never signed up. When I called Sirius/Xm, they said that was a limited offer. And was voided a year after the original purchase of the car.

I had to buy an aftermarket Alpine radio (with Sirius/Xm option) to activate their service. And yes, I always had Sirius/Xm in my 2007 Element, which I bought new. It has OEM radio, which I activated Xm service, the day I bought the car.

No Luck... Sirius indicated the XM receiver is valid and active. They said there is a connection issue with the Antenna or the Antenna is not receiving signal. Recommendation to replace Antenna.

Open to any other suggestions.

Thanks but no. Looks like this is the harness for the radio antenna and not MX. Appreciate you checking.
