Newbie trying to increase SQ
Hey guys,
So I purchased the S2k recently (MY08) and I upgraded the deck to DEH-80PRS as a lot of people have recommended here. Although the built in MOSFET amp increased the sound quality, I am still trying to get more out of it. The problem is that this is my first time doing more than a deck so bare with me if I dont know a lot of stuff.
My plan is to purchase the HAT speakers soon and I was thinking about using these - http://www.ebay.com/itm/361026139935...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT to wire them up. When I was reading reviews, I heard these need a proper amp to make it sound better so I've been thinking about getting one. In terms of wiring, how would that work exactly?
So say from the battery, you'd need a wire that's going to the amp, then two separate speaker line from left to right to the amp as well?
Also, on a side note, I've installed 80PRS and it's currently touching the door panel as expected. Some user on this forum said this can be fixed with playing around with the mount. How is this possible? I did what I can to move it back but it seems like it's still not enough. :/
Thanks for the help in advance.

Welcome.
Here's a DIY you can follow.

With regards to the head unit hitting the radio door, first see what part is hitting the door. Is it the whole bezel or just the volume button.
One way you could do it is modify the mounting bracket to have the head unit sit in a bit further. Would take some tinkering but shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks guys. From the link you've sent me, it seems the OP wired a separate powerline for the headunit. What's the need of this exactly and how is this possible when you have the factory harness?

I think using the 80PRS without going active setup is a waste, I'm running the 80PRS active and it sounds amazing. If your looking to improve SQ add a 5 or 6 ch amp to those HATS & a sub. Your roll hoop speakers will work with the internal amp on the 80PRS but if your using external amps I suggest you shut the internal amp on the 80PRS off for better SQ.
