Remove driver's side kick panel

I'm trying to remove the driver's side kick panel and I can't for the life of me get it off.

I got the carpet tab by the firewall, the one push tab in the middle by pulling up from the botom, and I can see the three tabs that slide under the door molding, but there is something holding the panel still, somewhere close to the door and the hood release.

Can anyone tell me exactly what to do to get this panel off? Searching didn't really help. Do I need to remove the door molding first? Is it just the tree clips that go into the door molding that I have to get off? Do you slide the whole panel back to get it off? etc etc etc...

Thanks,

on the '01, there's a clip up top by the A-pillar, possibly partially
obscured by the weatherstripping. it's pushed through from the
door side rather the the interior side.

If you take a lok at the instructions for my Yellow Jacket product (PDF here) there are photos of the clip described above AND the one by the hood release. The one by the hood release WILL pop off if you pull outward (towards the center console) or backwards. The one in the door jamb is really tight (if it's a virgin) and will have to be pried out. Good news - you don't have to put it back in. Mine's been out for 6 years and you can't tell.

Thanks for the feedback - so I have to remove the door sill trim with the kick panel?

Thanks,

I'm also tryin to remove this panel.
Did you end up having to remove some sort of door trim to get this removed?
It's missing a clip to hold it in place for easier access to the clutch master cylinder bolts (which i'm trying to replace right now)
(just to make sure we are talking about the same thing; the panel I'm trying to remove houses the hood release and contains the fuse panel diagram) correct?

You need to remove the door sill to get the kick panel out (the panel you mentioned). You can find the removal instructions detailed in the Yellowjacket installation instructions that Modifry linked. http://www.modifry.com/more/docs/Yel...-2000-2005.pdf
