Default Some questions after my install

I just added an additional amp to my setup (Alpine PDX 1.600 and 10" alpine type R). I had already previously setup an Alpine PDX 2.150 and a CDA-9887.

First, I had already grounded my amp here (I used the bottom one)...

While moving cable around I accidently pulled the cable out of the crimped connection (apparently I didn't crimp it very well the first time) So I removed the bolt and remember that last time it was hard to line the threads up but it went in easily. Well now it does not want to go in easily, there is alot of resistance. I won't be using that bolt I will need to replace it. Have any of you had that issue with this location? On MY07 there are additional brackets to the left of the location holding the brace down... so I moved the ground over there.

Does anyone know the size of this bolt? Do you think a place like NAPA would have it? Is it an issue if I drive the car (to the store) with the bolt missing?

2.) On my PDX 1.600 there is a switch for input gain -- 0.1v - 1.0v and 1.0v - 8.0v. When I use the 1-8v the sub becomes inaudible. When I select 0.1-1.0 the sub is loud. I thought the CDA 9887 used 4v outputs?

Thanks for your help!

Looks like the bolt is part 42 --- BOLT-WASHER (8X16)... at least it retails for about $1, but what a PITA

the switch just sets the range of inputs, while the knob adjusts the gain within that
range. my guess is the knob is set at the extreme end (1v with the switch in the
0.1-1v range, 8v with the switch in 1-8v). thus the amp is expecting either a 1v
input, but if you turn up the volume you'll exceed that and the amp will clip (distort),
or an 8v signal which your headunit can't deliver so it plays too quietly.
set the switch to 1-8v but turn the knob next to it closer to the maximum setting and
the volume should get louder.

hummm.... I'm using the Alpine CDA-9887 which is 4v pre outs. But if I select the 1-8v on the amp and turn the sub volume to max on the head unit, there is still little bass (even with the amp gain over 3/4 max). I don't get it... I must be missing something
set the switch to 1-8v, then turn the gain control whichever way makes it louder.
if you get it maxed out and it's still not as loud as it should be, it's likely to be an
issue with one of the roughly 1000 settings the headunit supports. For instance,
if you have mistakenly set a high-pass filter on the sub channel (just an example,
may not even be possible on that headunit), almost no signal would be making it
to the sub.
you mention having the sub volume maxed out - does turning it up & down affect
the output?
