you'll find bazooka's do not fit well in the trunk. you mentioned wanting to save space... so i'd rule the bazooka out...

before buying any RF subs, talk to WLaurent. he used to distribute and sell RF stuff very inexpensively and is quite familiar with their lineup. he also generally installs that stuff for free.

respectible 8 in. subs that i know of:

Eclipse makes a pretty good 8" sub. talk to Kronos, i think he has one of these. if i recall correctly, it's a pretty agressive sub.

JL makes a number of 8" subs. and the 8W3v2 fits well. talk to PAS2KNut, he has had these in the past. he also had some RF subs too at one point. the JL's are good subs, but known to be a little over priced.

Elemental Designs makes the e8a.44, which is the sub i have. it's a very agressive 8" sub, but requires a bit more $$ and a bit more power than most. there are a number of people out there who have these if you look around.

William (WLaurent) really speaks highly of several of the RF subs... a LONG time ago, he did a comparison of 4-5 subs and their volume output... i think he liked the older RF's and i'm not sure how much he likes the current generation.

Kicker makes a solobaric 8" sub... not the best for sound quality, but is probably one of the strongest subs out there for it's size. i think William also sold these as well... i don't recall who has one of these though...

other than these, i'm not sure what other options are there... b0mbrman mentions a few in the S2000 audio faq.

installation costs? outside of wire, mine cost almost nothing... if you've got basic solder or even crimping skills, and aren't afraid to pull panels, etc. do it yourself. just plan for a good long weekend (assuming your 1st time), and let us know... Dave and myself have both made ourselves available for calls in the past... others have as well...

regretfully, my HU isn't available anymore... the newer Alpines though are coming out and now are offering amber, but for about a year or so, you couldn't get an amber Alpine.

regarding Amp's... as you go down that path, be sure to know what sub you have, as it will affect the amp you need to buy... (for example, the e8a has to have a 2 ohm mono stable amp.)

NO good.......unless you use all 4 channels for the infinitys alone. 50watts isnt that great for them. I think its their minimum. Get an amp that has 150x2. The Soundstream Van Gough 500.4 would be pefect. You can buy a spare tire mounting tray from Jim, PAS2kNUT, and youll have a nice clean almost empty trunk.

from the look of it the amp look pretty big.
am i'm suppose to put that in the spare tire place, that why i should get the spare tire mounting tray??

what if i put it under the seat instead?? any problem with that or it going to be too hot..

so as far as amp goes..i need a four channel
with at least 150watts x2 for kappa and how many watts for the two e8A.44 sub??

Not many good amplifiers are small enough to fit under the seat. That is also a bad idea regardless, and good power amps need to breathe.

As for power, 125x2 for fronts and 125x2 for both coils would be great.
