Sorry if this was brought up already, but I look through 3 pages without any related topics.
Is it hard to take out the factory unit and replacing with a aftermarket unit. Let's just say a Sony CDX-M620. Is there just one connection (where all the wires are) and then the antenna connection? I'm planning on ordering from crutchfield and doing the install it myself. Thanks... |
yes,yes.
Try the search function to find the specifics. PAC is a good search word for this. |
See my webpage for a CDX-M750 install (among other things)...

Some advise for removing the head unit:
1. use black electrical tape on the top of the vent where you pry. 2. use a flat head screw driver with black tape 3. put the shifter in 6th and use masking tape around it. 4. use masking tape on the plastic console to protect it. 5. pry a bit at the top of the vent, then pull and wiggle the door which pulls out the bottom. 6. phililps #2 on the 4 screws for the bracket. 7. pull out head and unplug it. 8. remove the side brackets from stock unit - you'll need them for the new one. 9. use a wire harness! solder and tape the wires together. |
