Trouble with alarm after battery change
Hi!
Yesterday I changed the battery on my MY04 S2000 (European) and today I installed the new one. As soon as I put on the negative, the alarm goes off like crazy. I tried what I think that is everything: close all doors, connect the battery and unlock them with the key fob, doing the same but manually, starting the car (no problems, but alarm keeps destroying my ears), doing ON-OFF with the key 5 times (read some of it at google I think), waiting for 90 sec with the key in the ON position, replaced the battery on the fob just to be sure it wasn't that... From what I'm reading, i think the battery of the alarm may be dead? I'm sure I'm missing something, but for real, I don't know what the hell it is. And let me say sorry for my far from perfect english. Any help is truly appreciated. |
OEM or aftermarket alarm system? Manufacturer should know how to reset it.

Update: after leaving the car running for 5 minutes, the alarm went off. So if someone has the same problem, the first step is to turn on the engine and let it run. I took it for a 30 minute spin and it seemed that everything was alright, but when I close the car and arm the alarm, some seconds after it just goes off like crazy again, but this time I can shut it off by opening the car and putting ignition position on key.
As soon as I can I will take the car for a longer ride (maybe the battery alarm is not charged yet?) and lets see what happens... |
Another update after a long ride: the alarm is going off as soon as I close the car with the remote, or if I close the car with the key in the driver's door (which closes everything). When it goes off, I just open the car, put ignition position and after the first cycle (30 sec) it stops.
I will take it to Honda as soon as they can get me in, but in the meantime... anybody knows where can be the problem? |
I am experiencing the same exact problem, did you ever figure it out?
