What are my options for upgrades??

I was just wondering what options do I have if I wanted to upgrade to a aftermarket cd player and retain the factory dash controls? I've seen people talking about the Sony's, but is there another company that would be compatible? If not, which Sony cd player would be the best?

Thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

it's setup now such that you are able to use just about any aftermarket head unit with dash controls using the PAC or pinky's mod. Any single din cd player will fit and there are two speakers, one in each door, lucid makes a couple kit's for the S2000. (lucidautomotive.com)

Where would I go to get these dash controls? Is there a web-site that I can go to to check it out? Thanks for the response.

Here are the two main options to retain the stock dash controls:

1) wired, programmable controls with two fuctions per button (quick press, press and hold) with S2Kguy's DCU; only for Sony headunits that can take a wired remote control.

2) infrared control (you put a little LED emitter near the headunit) with either:

2a) PAC SWI-X (do it yourself wiring, programming, etc. including a relay to make the mute button work)

or

2b) Pinky's pre-wired version of 2a, including relay and wiring harness.

Both 2a and 2b work with any headunit that has a infrared remote.

Once you decide which you want to go with, do a search here to find out where to get the goods.

Hope that helps,

Ted
