When wiring up two amps
 

I know I tap into the blue remote wire coming from the head unit and bring that back to one amp. Should I tie the two ends together and that point and put one end in one amp and the other end in the other amp? Or just tap into the wire leading back to the first amp?

Tap into the wire. Each amp should have a direct connection to the radio's remote line.

Just don't daisy chain the remote wires.

Wait... Should I tap into the wire that is tapped into the MAIN wire? Or make two seperate taps into the main wire?

Tap the main wire at the same point for both amp leads.

Ideally you should hook up a relay to the main remote turn on line off the radio, then run the two seperate remote lines off the output of the relay with an inline fuse of about 2 amps for each.

If you dont use a relay your basically y-ing off the lines off the main turn on wire off the radio. If you do it this way you'll want to diode isolate the two wires to prevent any backfeeding into the other line(amp) if say one line should accidentally ground out or something should go wrong with one of the amps. This will prevent the other amp from experiencing the same. That or be sure to include an inline fuse on each line.

What does this relay look like?

You can go to radio shack and pick one up. They run about 3 or 4 bucks I think.

The ones at radio shack have four prongs (single throw) instead of say a bosch relay thats a double throw and has an extra prong (87)

the remote line off the deck would go to prong 85 off the relay

prong 86 goes to ground
prong 87 goes to 12v
prong 30 will be the new output in which you can split off the two wires to go to each amp.

fuse each line with a 1 or 2 amp fuse.

you dont necessarily need it, but it is a precautionary thing. The remote output off the deck is only like a 200 or 300ma output and can run 2 or 3 things max as a turn on circuit.

The relay will prevent that line from burning itself out or the amps from drawing too much current in the event of a malfunction on the amps side that could pretty much destroy that line out from the deck.

If you use a relay, the remote turn on is simply going to be used to activate the relay, rather than turning on the amps, eliminating just about any chance of destroying that output from the deck.

If that were to happen, lets say you inadvertantly hook up five amps off that single remote out...it may work for a while, but it will eventually destroy the circuit from having too much current being drawn off of it...then you'd have to have a relay anyhow, and hook the radios switched line to the relay the same way as above.

If that were to happen you'd need to use a toggle switch to interrupt the switched line activating the relay or you may get that annoying turn on thump from the amp being on all the time from being hooked to the switched line instead of the remote turn on.
