Default Will a single din fold out dvd screen fit is a S2k?

Just curious I'm buying a s2000 next week and I'm currently purchasing a system for the car. I already have a complete kicker system including 2 speakers with 2 tweeters for the doors, 2 speakers I plan to put in the headrest (I did a similar conversion for my old mustang), and subwoofer with a custom built box for the spare tire compartment. I am still looking for a new head unit and my friend is selling a single din DVD screen that folds up brand new. Will this fit in the car? I'm just curious my last car was a celica gts which had a nice double din DVD screen I would hate to go back to something as mundane as a normal cd deck with out doing any kind of extra modification.

I would say there's a 99% chance it won't flip up without hitting the dash.

Depends on the head unit. They're not all the same. You haven't provided a model number so it's impossible to say. There are threads on this and most will not work.

And if it does come out far enough to clear the dash it'll be hitting the shifter at that point.

If you REALLY want a screen you might consider cutting the dash. Look at the dash for a jdm s2000 for reference.

Agreed. This is completely accurate as there have been a few owners who successfully managed to install flip out screens in the OEM radio location have clearance issues. Check out the link below...

"(apparently I never took any pics of the system while I had it installed, but I did take some video, screenshots are below. the LCD screen opens and closes, but the shifter must be in 2nd, 4th or 6th gear for enough clearance)"

Here is the link to the owners who have installed a screen in their dash JDM style.

Really would love to find out also!! Don't look like it would but hopefully there is a way to make it work. I have a jensen one stored away and want to try it but don't wanna install if it won't work right. Hoping somebody has some good pics and info.

i am in the market as well. i seem to remember that other than the shifter having to be in 2/4/6 while unit is sliding in / out, that as long as there's some tilt to the screen that it will work perfectly ... i am gonna take a chance with a clarion and see.

I've never seen a flip out radio that doesn't look tacky even when space isn't an issue

who cares if it looks "tacky", this is a simple way of putting a large screen nav system in a small and hard to modify space.

I dont like cheap looking parts on my car, but to each their own I suppose. If I was dead set on wanting a radio with a screen, I'd do the dash cut with a non jank looking radio.

But I prefer my single din radio and a GPS that can go in the glove box when not in use.
