Default Wire Mp3 player to Stock HU

Has anyone tried to utilize the CD stack wiring harness to wire in the ability to hook up an MP3 player???

This will allow you to use an MP3 player that outputs analog audio such as a walkman, (MP3 or otherwise). It won't work with a CD changer Like the Alpine playing MP3s.

From the page:

"The HON-AUX is compatible with most models from 1992 - 2004 (NOT compatible with 2004 S2000 with Clarion-built OEM radio). See below for specific vehicle applications"

So, since I have a MY04 with the stock radio right now (saving the pennies until I can do it right ), is there any other such device/adapter that will allow an IPOD/MP3 portable player to connect directly without having to use an FM modulator?

ummm.....

i don't know. your best shot would be to call them and ask... they produce the majority of those kinds of adapters.

Quick answer: Yes, you can get a 3.5mm to RCA adapter form Radio shack and plug it into to the Aux in on your HU. This essentially takes your headphone jack and connects it to your HU. Belkin makes a charger for your ipod with an amped 3.5mm out: Belkin autocharger

But Alpine is making a unit that will connect the ipod through Ai-net. I'm waiting for this better connection.

This link was mentioned elsewhere in the forum.

http://icelink.densionusa.com/

The product uses the existing CD Changer wiring.

Don't have any personal knowledge about the product, but I have been thinking about it for the iPod.

OK, thanks. I did find one that they say will work. But it's $200! I think I'll wait until I buy the Alpine then connect it that way.

Thanks all.
