My question above regarding sun glare has not been answered. How can this situation be addressed?

We have a few local s2000 owners who are all in line to get this done. Each job takes us about 1-1.5 weeks to complete depending on work load and custom modifications.

Remember there is no "template" so each s2000 gets the royal treatment as the owner will determine:

a) Shape

b) Brand of tablet

c) Docking source

d) Security cover

e) Design logo (behind unit when removed)

f) LED lighting as needed

If you are interested in getting this done we don't need your car if you are not local however we do need your tablet to get things rolling. We have a "donor" s2000 to build the molds here WITHOUT your car present unless you want us to do the custom wiring too.

PM us for clear instructions or email us at:

euroboutique.us@gmail.com

thank you

Nice to see your work... looking forward to the upcoming unveiling...

I remember one of your previous projects with a tablet... it was sharp...

Just a suggestion, but wouldn't a hybrid template/custom solution work better for everyone involved? It would likely require considerably more design time...but it would address AZS2KDancer's concern, and create a better product for EuroBoutique.

Can you guys create a standard dash inlay that would accommodate any phone or tablet within a specific range of dimensions, like a greatest common denominator? For example, the iPad Mini is 200mm x 134.7mm x 7.5mm (H x W x D) and the Nexus 7 is 200mm x 114mm x 8.65mm. Assuming the most likely candidates for tablets are those two, and most smart phones are the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S series, and Google Nexus 4/5 phones, a standard dash bezel for the S2000 that fits all these devices would be sufficient. Making it a modular solution, it allows any S2000 owner to pick up your dash bezel and a custom fitted inlay for any of the devices listed. You wouldn't even have to account for cables/wiring if you placed holes where necessary on the bezel and custom device inlay. If what I am saying does not make sense, think of the outer bezel as a permanent fixture in the S2000 that would require modification of the dashboard. The bezel inlay would simply be something that accommodates a device and allows it to sit securely in the dashboard and outer bezel.

The advantages here are obvious:
  • S2000 owners only have to cut their dashboard once, and can update bezel inlays whenever they update their tablet/phone.
  • EuroBoutique can generate recurring business by making the bezel inlays available owners for a period of time from the introduction to the retirement of a given device.
  • EuroBoutique only has to create 3-5 new molds every year or two to keep up with the most popular smartphones and tablets, so the R&D effort is reduced.
The list goes on, but you get the idea...

Thoughts?
