Emanage Ultimate Data Logs

I've got my emanage ultimate in and working, along with RC550 injectors and the base AP2 greddy turbo map. I wanted to get an idea of the logs prior to throwing boost into the mix. A/F seems fine, albeit a bit rich, but not worrying based on the innovate mtx-l. What I am a bit worried about is the drop in injector signals. I read what i could find on the boards, and seems it's related to MAP Intercept vs MAP Tap (Karcept's post on https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-ra...904853/page58/)

There's no sputtering or anything, so I believe it's just a readout issue versus an injection system issue, but wanted to confirm. (also, once i'm comfortable with the normal greddy setup, i'll be looking to get an Infinity since everyone but the STR autox crowd hates the ultimate, and even the STR crowd just tolerates it)

I didn't see anything like that on my logs, maybe just a really big spike once in a while.
But if you can't feel them it's probably just a measuring error, I would keep an eye out though cause that looks a bit weird.

The drops showed up sporadically during every WOT pull, so I know it's related to the Emanage input. All three measurements for the injectors would appear as if they were receiving no input at all.

I looked around but only saw that one Karcept post on the signal input. It's soon to be a turbo car so I didn't want to change the MAP wiring.

I ran Emanage for several years NA and Supercharged, and the data logging is quirky to say the least. Overall its only good for a general guideline once you learn to read through the drop outs and inconsistent BS which usually is not how the engine is actually operating, but the Emanage signal pick up - depending on what parameter your monitoring) some of which are more reliable then others. Ironically for this reason I would never recommend using the Emanage with a turbo set up. With NA or Supercharged its an easy linear fuel and timing tune so its much more forgiving mapping out. You really need proper/accurate data to tune with this ecu/engine combo with a turbo, which is far more dynamic how boost comes in to the picture.

Thank you for the verification. I wholly recognize that the emanage ultimate is far less capable than a stand alone engine management system. That said, i've got a factory GReddy turbo setup along with what should be the factory base tune file from GReddy. The file is unlocked though, so I'm a bit nervous as to whether anything has been changed but so far everything seems in line. The logging was odd but it seems that's more a function of the GReddy unit itself. Thanks again.

I actually found the emanage quite capable for what I needed to run my 425+whp supercharger set up, I just couldn't rely on all of the data logging and rather used my own tuning knowledge to get a safe tune. The data logging inconsistency aside, the unit itself has a lot of great features (some more then needed which can create a little confusion) that any full stand alone has, so quality of tune really comes down to the users ability understanding of what they are doing in combination with the stock ecu tune parameters and navigating the emanage parameters to coincide with this. In some ways its nice having closed loop already up and running/tuned for you unlike starting from ground zero with a full ems. As someone that tunes their own shit on the street, I found it a blessing. But in your case, I wouldn't feel very confident trying to overlap a turbo boost map over the top of that with great safe running success, mostly due to detonation tendencies with getting the timing retard correct. Since you cant reliably read knock, all you can do is make an educated guess along with accurately deciphering your boost curve throughout the rpms, but more crucially that transition area between closed/open loop and boost ramp up at every rpm and load point. So much easier with a linear boost plot of belt driven boost.

I can confirm that injector signal dropouts is something I’m dealing with too... for years. Was scary at first but 7yrs later... everything is still fine.

i might give Doc tronics ECU a go one days since it’s plug and play.

I wanted to revive this due to a log issue. If I load the logs when it is NOT connected to the car, several selections like VTEC engagement and OPTION 1 or OPTION 2 are no longer visible. It's weird, because it will 'snapshot' the last settings it had when it was connected, so for example, OPTION 2 will show AFR as logged. I'll disconnect it and load the log on a separate computer, and it will still show the graph but as soon as I try to change anything the options are no longer available and it zeroes out the record for AFR.

I searched around but couldn't find anything similar, nor is it mentioned in the manual. Does it need the factory ECU input to work that stuff out, or something similar? Thoughts?

Everything looks okay, except there's no units on AFR

Look to change the inputs on the chart, and Option 2 should be AFR but it's gone. VTEC is grayed out as well.

Without changing anything else, clicking "OK" or "Cancel" clears the AFR line.
