Do have the keys to go with the new purchased ecu?

Remove kick panel by your clutch pedal (with the fuse diagram on it) use screwdriver to unbolt ecu from bracket, unplug ecu, plug in ecu, work backwards till you're back together. that's if they're reprogramming the ecu to work with your car, but I'm pretty sure it's the other way around, and they reprogram the immobilizer to work with the new ecu, which is why some people sell the immobilizer with the ecu.

You dont need keys for the purchased ecu. You just have the tech program is as an all keys lost and program your original keys to the ECU. I have done a few of these and never had a problem.

I know that. The dealer charges $200-something to reprogram, a cost that could be avoided if op has keys that match the ecu.

Reviving this thread, I tried installing a pcxa02 ecu on my my00, I have the keys from the donor ecu, so I taped it to the ecu, but it wouldn't start. Just makes the cranking sound. Anyone encountered this problem and is there a way around it? Dealership doesn't want to program my keys for me. soor
