Stock ECU and K&N / Exhaust upgrade
do i need to disconnect the battery or how ever you reset the ECU to help the computer relearn the new parts or is the ecu that quick to learn that new parts have been added and that it can breath better ??? Just wondering ...

Thanks for the help .. i did not think it needed to be done but from the cars i have had it the past it was recommended .. but the cars i had in the past were not as awesome as this one is !!!

I do see a small amount of logic in resetting, since eventually 'it will' slowly compensate for the extra air flow (if any) the K&N gives over time, this amount of time will be reduced by resetting and forcing it alter the LTFT based on the average STFT, I'm unsure on Honda if there are low, mid, and hi trims.
However I know the adjustment isn't instant, likely a few hours differing driving will be enough without resetting
.Agree i wouldn't pull the fuse etc though since the amount of time letting the car learn vs resetting is probably small but definitely there is a time margin, I'd just go out for a long drive.
Dont think anyone knows the likely time scales though.

LTRIM changes very fast whether you have reset the ECU or not. I doubt there would be more than a 10 minute difference either way. Although, if LTRIM starts out at +4% and needs to go to +6% due to the added air flow, then resetting it would actually EXTEND the amount of time it would take to get to +6%.
It's a moot point anyway, since LTRIM really doesn't impact performance. Not trims are applied at full throttle.
